Celebrating 20 years of 1997 super hit film Judwaa, director David Dhawan has given the best possible tribute to his own film.
The sequel Judwaa 2 has Varun Dhawan in a duplicate role as Raja and Prem opposite actresses Jacqueline Fernandez and Tapsee Pannu respectively. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Upasana Singh, Ali Asgar, Johnny Lever and others. Salman Khan’s cameo is like a cherry on the cake.
Well, since the trailer of Judwaa 2 was released, the film was being trolled for being an exact replica of its predecessor. Even after its release on the 29th of the last month, it has been criticised for being a ‘Judwaa’ of its first part. With no change in characters, script and even songs, the film has made a huge collection and in 4 days it has earned INR 77 Crores.
To the surprise of the critics, Judwaa 2 has surpassed the first-week collection of Varun Dhawan’s Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya. Film critic Taran Adarsh seems to be quite impressed with the sequel and he tweeted about the film’s collection.
The collection dropped a little bit on Monday but nonetheless, it is sure to cross the 100 crore mark and the Dhawans will have a reason to celebrate.
Competing with Mahesh Babu’s SPYder and Kranti Kanade’s CRD, Judwaa 2 is standing tall. SPYder has come out as a huge hit whereas CRD is lagging far behind.
If you are still thinking whether you should head to the theatres or not, the collection will make it pretty clear. Get ready for the 9 se 12 show, what say!
